Matt must have told Lance first.
He was prepared for repercussions to come eventually. Matt wouldn’t keep his mouth shut about anything he deemed important. He wasn’t prepared for his boyfriend to storm into his room minutes after he did only half out of his armour and deck him in the mouth.
He was crying but all that was in his eyes was rage. Keith caught his other fist as it swung towards his throat, but missed the knee to his gut. Keith lay gasping on the ground as Lance loomed above him, angry tears darkening spots on his Mamora uniform where they fell.

And the end came without loud bangs or screams of terror. No roars of earthquakes or wild typhoons. It came with a weak sound like a whimper as the very heart of the Earth stopped beating.
There was no explosion or blinding lights. No, the universe was sucked inwards into itself like a breath waiting for release in endless, claustrophobic silence.
There was no corporeal body, just a naked soul suspended in the terminus. Not so much emotion as bare thought alone in the empty.

Gone To Given (A Voltron Fanfic) Chapter 3
It had been months since Lance had given himself up. If they were desperate while Shiro was gone, they were despairing now. Shiro had emerged from the cryopod two weeks ago, the only words he had said were quoting Lance, mumbling “they need you more… next paladin…” After that he spent all his time in the Black Lion, doing Quiznak knows what. The tarp in the bridge that covered Shiro’s station had migrated to Lance’s. Allura would sit next to it on the floor sometimes, when it was just her and Coran. Even so, Coran spent a lot less time on the bridge and a lot more time alone in the winding depths of the cas

Gone to Given Chapter 2 (A Voltron Fanfiction)
Keith was asleep on his bed when Lance received the transmission. It was clearly Galra and Lance approached with suspicious curiosity. In it lay a proposition made by the infamous Prince Lotor. A trade, Shiro’s freedom for his. It didn’t make any sense, but Lance couldn’t care less, this was it. Their chance. Lance hastily composed a reply without hesitation. Lotor gazed at holographic projections of the paladins and their lions, only half listening to his father’s favourite druid ramble on about strategy and useless information.
“This one,” he moved the blue paladin’s projection closer to his face and smiled, “what is his name? Who is he?”
“I believe his name is Lance, sire.”

“Prince Lotor-”
“Bring me the black paladin, we have much to discuss.”

Tears cried in vain
Time lost to the endless rain
At your end, were you free?
I saw that you did not flee
Starsong and the Archer
Sagittarius in Orion's armour
The moon in the mirror smiles at the sun
the sky sees the Earth, all that it's done
Weapons only made by man
Ashes, ashes; only fire outran
Drink away every memory
Forgetting is the only remedy
All the nightmares must be slain
Before you can break the chain
